At the city square, there's a big hubub - looks like they're clearing a city block away. There's guys in ornate navy blue robes looking on as fences and scaffolding goes up, and wagons of stonework are haulled away.

[2024/05/16 16:49] Sonja Bikergrrl: Onwards! The Bargewright Inn is surprisingly busy this early in the day... but maybe "night shift workers" are "just finishing work". As you push open the doors, a cloud of cigarette and pipe smoke wafts out, along with a round of laughter, and then a voice telling a story: "So we got the figurine, and THAT is when we heard all hell break loose outside! We ran down and found an angry mob forming about our look-out! Ha! Bob here started jumping up and down holding his foot, and I had no idea what to do, so I just grabbed her. Ha! You shoulda seen her face!" More laughter.
[2024/05/16 16:49] Alicia Frakture: You all think we should tell someone what that guy just said? Those kind of stories usually end with destruction and that's not good.
[2024/05/16 16:50] Sonja Bikergrrl: Well, if they're rebuilding a city block, chances are someone like the King probably already knows
[2024/05/16 16:50] Alicia Frakture: True but mentioning tapping into power to make them more powerful than the gods?
[2024/05/16 16:51] Sonja Bikergrrl: What government wouldn't approve of that?
[2024/05/16 16:51] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Nah, that story is already spread wide enough we can't do anything about it," she shrugs, lips a thin line.
[2024/05/16 16:52] Sonja Bikergrrl: The guy telling the story pauses, looking round. "Hey, Debben! Come get an ale. Barkeep! Ale for our friends!"
[2024/05/16 16:53] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Alright," she answers, still a bit suspicious but it's hard to turn down free ale.
[2024/05/16 16:53] Sonja Bikergrrl: The ratty-looking guy you met a few days previous sidles up, jerking his head aside as if it were about to fall off, indicating he wants a quiet word with Debben.
[2024/05/16 16:54] Sonja Bikergrrl: Tankards are plonked down - how Dahlia is going to manage a tankard she could swim in is anyones' guess. Katana just looks at the tankard, then about the room, frowning in disapproval. "If you don't mind... I'll see you outside."
[2024/05/16 16:55] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: She collects her tankard of ale first, moving to speak to the ratty looking guy.
[2024/05/16 16:55] Sonja Bikergrrl: Ratty guy leans in to whisper to Debben. "Hey! You came round, knew you would! Listen.... I got something you might be interested in... bit dangerous, though, but I'm sure you can handle it."
[2024/05/16 16:57] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "What style of dangerous?"
[2024/05/16 16:58] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Dangerous dangerous. There's a passage under the sewers, me and two of the lads went to look, heard there was treasure there... we got jumped by something, I barely got out alive. The other two didn't make it."

[2024/05/16 16:59] Sonja Bikergrrl: Ratty snorts. "What you think, I was gonna stay and ask it's name? I heard them screaming and scarpered!"
[2024/05/16 17:01] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "So we only know it's in the sewers, and that it took out two of your people." She drums her fingers on the table, sipping her ale, unimpressed at their ability to reconnoiter the problem.

[2024/05/16 17:02] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "From the dead guys it killed?"
[2024/05/16 17:04] Sonja Bikergrrl: Ratty Guy: "Could be. Riches are riches. Its' up to you, I'll tell you where it is, you can take a look, if the word is good, slip me a few coins and pay the Guild dues from the loot. And get what killed those two! Up to you."
[2024/05/16 17:04] Sonja Bikergrrl: And on that note, 1am and I got work tomorrow... so I guess we'll see what waits below next time!
